I've been kickin around, I suck. I haven't been as active on DA as I'd like to be, but I will be reviewing all your new stuff as soon as I can. Keep coming up with new stuff, and feel free to insult mine
they have a Q&A section on their site, and i received the most touching compliments ever from this man ausGeoff
Hi Nicole.
This site may be a good starting point for some basic info re cameras: [link]
I checked out your site, and was pleasantly surprised! I don't think you need to talk down your skills (or lack thereof) as much as you feel it necessary. You've captured some good, moody, atmospheric stuff there. And under less-than-ideal conditions.
Don't be too concerned about the "technicalities" of photography to start with. If you've got a good eye (as you have) then your artistic ability will carry you forward, with the technobabble making more sense along the way.
Remember, someone *without* any creative ability ain't gonna make a masterpiece even with a $3000 camera, whereas someone with an "eye" for a picture *can* do it with a $300 camera.
Contrary to what a lot of people may tell you, it's the photographer and their interpretation of his/her subject that account for 95% of a successful image. The camera is merely a tool (as was the paintbrush to Michelangelo).
Good luck.
I felt the need to share that with you, you can view the original forum post here: DPR FORUM
Okay, I am feeling a bit better about this gallery. I have edited all the pieces, dumped the ones that in fact were crap. and this is a full assault ready to happen. i have been trying my hand at photomanipulation, i hope i get better with it. i am tired, but accomplished.
